Shiraz HIV/AIDS Research Center (SHARC) is an academic center, established in November 2009 in Shiraz, Iran and affiliated with Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (SUMS). This center benefits from the experiences of the capable faculty members and experts in HIV/AIDS related issues to make effective policies in health system and community. SHARC supports and funds scientific research projects, those which can lead to HIV/AIDS related policies and strategies for regional and national health sectors. Holding international and national workshops and congresses have been taken into account as one of the main duties of Shiraz HIV/AIDS Research Center. SHARC works on different fields of HIV/AIDS such as basic, clinical and preventive research with specific focus on behavioral & psychosocial aspects.
